A Message from our Principal

Welcome to Vicki A. Romero High School where exciting things are happening! We pride ourselves in ensuring that our students leave us academically prepared to enter the college setting and the world of work.

My goals for this upcoming year are to improve student achievement, increase test scores, and increase parental involvement.

I believe that quality instruction and strong parental support are key factors for student success. It will take all of us as a team (the parents, students, teachers, the administration, and the Board of Directors) working together in tandem to ensure this success.

We will challenge the students with a rigorous academic program the four years they are with us. In addition, they should have the goals in mind: being in school every day, on time, and working hard in the classroom. If they do this, then ---the high school diploma will be their reward. This will be the start of their path towards college or career of choice.

Our school is making changes that will have a positive impact on our students, their families, and our community. In addition, Vicki A. Romero is committed to providing students with meaningful experiences both in and out of the classroom through our leadership workshops, Student Council, the National Honor Society, our AVID college readiness program, and our Bioscience program where we are anxiously awaiting to grow our own vegetables to sell in the marketplace. We have sports, clubs, and other activities where students can become involved. School is fun when you get involved!

We have new facilities in progress. There will be a “state of the art” gymnasium and a new administrative building ready for use the beginning of the 2010-11 school year. With this come an expanded sports program, performing arts, and many community activities.

I welcome all parents to become actively involved in their child’s education. Please stop by and visit our school. Let us tell you more about our exciting plans and many great upcoming activities. I look forward to meeting you.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Dora Peralta
Principal
